The African Tourism Board (ATB) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Raisin Capital Limited, establishing a strategic partnership aimed at transforming access to capital for tourism small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Africa and accelerating the continent’s tourism investment ecosystem. The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Raisin Capital including Penny Njoki, General Manager, Capital Connect Africa, Paul Chesa, Tech Lead, and Marion Ambiyo, Product Associate, both of Raisin Capital, alongside Sally Njoki, Secretary General of the African Tourism Board and Prof. Didier Bayeye, Chief Operations Officer at ATB,


The partnership reflects a growing recognition that unlocking investment flows into Africa’s tourism sector requires structured collaboration between industry institutions and capital markets. Addressing Africa’s Tourism Financing Gap Despite its significant growth potential, Africa’s tourism sector continues to face structural challenges related to capital access, investment readiness, and financial structuring. Through this partnership, ATB and Raisin Capital aim to bridge these gaps by creating an integrated pathway connecting tourism enterprises with verified investors, structured financing solutions, and digital investment infrastructure. tourism ecosystems across Africa’s 55 states.

This partnership represents a shift toward building structured investment pipelines that empower tourism enterprises to scale sustainably while positioning Africa as a competitive global investment destination.” Prof. Didier Bayeye, Chief Operations Officer at ATB, noted that the collaboration strengthens ATB’s operational mandate as a facilitator of tourism development, enabling more data-driven engagement between tourism enterprises and the investment community.
